Consumer Product Design was required by a talented lone inventor developed a concept for a single cup, award winning coffeemaker and had a requirement to take the product concept to the next step.
This required clever thinking and a unique manufacturing process that was feasible in high volume production yet still aesthetically pleasing to the consumer.
The manufactured product is a combination of twin layer meshing with a polymer encapsulation that has been specifically compounded for the application from a unique specification, high temperature food grade material.
The manufacturing process led to some unique developments utilising silicon compression pads during the over moulding process and has enabled the ‘coffee gourmet’ to continually be manufactured without compromise to quality.
To date the ‘coffee gourmet’ has sold thousands of units worldwide, continues to receive positive feedback on a daily basis and has received a Silver medal at the international exhibition in Geneva. With a few kicking around our office, it certainly helps keep the thirsts quenched and the designers awake.
