Exploring different ideas
At Papa Bravo we believe the best products come from a multitude of ideas! This is the fun and exciting part of the process where our multidisciplinary team study your product proposal from every angle.
This is a fast and iterative stage of the process where we like to ask questions making sure no stone goes unturned. The output of this stage will often include rough initial notes and thumbnail sketches which form the basis of our ideas. This is crucial in identifying areas for opportunity and helps us get to the heart of the problem we are trying to solve.
Defining your concept options
Following the early exploration exercise we’ll work to hone and focus those ideas into commercially viable and practical concepts. Typically, we’ll judge each idea internally based on our notes and discoveries and question some of our early assumptions.
This is a good chance to test some of our early ideas helping us to ensure our concepts are following the right path as they begin to take shape.
As a conclusion we’ll present our concepts back discussing our thinking and rationale behind our ideas. We’ll highlight the key features and talk through the commercial and user benefits.
Taking the concept further
The concepts have been presented back, you’ve had a think and decided on the ones you’d like to push further…
But how do you know they will work? And how well will they be received by your intended target user group. Our goal here is to validate the concept(s) and gain as much early feedback as possible. We’ll gather learnings and insights and feed this back into the design process.
We’ll advise on the best approach to do this whether that’s a looks-like model, a functional prototype or a set of marketing visuals for stake holder buy in.
Looks right & feels right!
The prototype has helped to validate the overall design having gone through multiple rounds of user testing.
The overall design at this stage is still conceptual. The concept still requires finessing and critiquing to arrive at a solution which both looks right & feels right.
Perhaps there is a more cost effective manufacturing process or a different approach to packaging the design which may improve its aesthetic appeal. This stage of work will help to breathe life into the design and realise the concept ready for detailed design.
Can my idea be protected?
It is important that thorough research is conducted into a variety of areas related to the design brief. This research forms the underpinnings of any sound and thorough design project directing its concepts and providing solutions, justification and answers to issues that inevitably crop up throughout the course of a project.
We undertake a broad range of research projects specifically focusing on your target markets, your competitor products, why customers buy from you, relevant iconic products, trends, fashions and specific manufacturing technologies.
