Papa Bravo welcomes summer work experience placement, Tasha!
By Alex 17-05-2022
The South Wales office was lucky enough to be joined for a couple of weeks, this summer, by Tasha Hill a design student at Cardiff School of Art and Design, as part of a work experience placement.
Tasha wanted to gain some hands-on experience of what it’s like to be part of a busy design team and we were more than happy to oblige. Here’s how Tasha’s time with us went…
We asked Tasha a few questions about her time with us and how the experience will help her in the long run…

How did you find your experience at ts design?
I absolutely loved my work experience at ts design, I couldn’t have asked for anything more. All the guys were extremely helpful and it was such a nice environment to get on with an interesting project. I was also given some great in depth information and slide shows on each project they were currently undertaking and I was really impressed at the work, and the detail and skill in which they provided for each client. Although quite daunting I found it such a motivation and made me certain that’s what I want to do. They’re all so skilled and I love what ts design is about.
What would you say you gained from the experience and would you say it’ll change the way you work in the future?
I probably shouldn’t say it but I gained more out of it than what I have done in uni. I loved being in a working environment with actual professionals and this helped me get a lot more done and enabled me to focus purely on the project I was given, with thoughts and opinions from people who know what they’re doing. I also took a lot from the work of the staff as it gave me ideas of other things I can include in my uni projects and also gave me an insight into what clients want to see and what I should limit in my presentations. This is what I was hoping to gain and will therefore completely change how I work in the future.
How was working and experiencing a design office differ from your time in the classroom?
Well luckily in an office there isn’t fellow students running around shooting each other with nerf guns so that’s a big difference for one. It’s also a lot more relaxed and you have your own time and your own space to get on with what you need to, it’s a lot easier to focus and have a productive day.
Would you recommend ts design for others looking to gain some work experience?
100%. I think anybody would be lucky to have the experience I did. It felt as though I was actually working for a design consultancy and it gave me a feel of what it would be like so it’s helpful to find out if it’s actually for you or not.
Tasha was even kind enough to bake us a cake on her departure. She’s obviously welcome back anytime.
