What’s an XR?

An XR is a form of visual content which forms an interactive sequence. The content can be opened in a web browser and the sequence can be controlled by the user. Think of an XR like a user-controlled animation. A series of images are stitched together, and the user can then navigate through and control the sequence.

In terms of use case, this comes in handy when you want to show the product from every angle. Perhaps you’d like to provide a 360 orbit so that the viewer can rotate the product and get a full appreciation from every angle. There are a variety of shoe retailers which use use this technique when selling footwear online for example.

Maybe you’d like to run through the features step-by-step and guide the viewer through some of the benefits. If you feel like some of these features need to be highlighted in a more interesting and captivating way an XR could be the better option.

Would the product benefit from the users ability to move around the product and are there areas of the product which are of greater importance or significance than others. Perhaps you’d like to create a sequence where the product expands into an exploded view pulling out some of the features and details better.

An XR visual can help to provide a more detailed and immersive experience drawing on some of the features and benefits in a more compelling way.
